I wrote this Personal Code of Conduct my first semester in the program and it still rings true today. I value truth and understanding above all else especially when it comes to interpreting. As an interpreter, I want to always know when I am understanding my clients (Hearing and Deaf) and know when I am not fully understanding.

I want to always facilitate the truth and learn both sides of every story. As an interpreter being neutral is key and for me, I believe that knowing all the different sides will allow me to make a more informed interpretation. This will also allow me to be more neutral because I know everyone's perspectives and where they are coming from.
